Why Choose DeBase Music Centre?

Here at DeBase, we believe everyone can play! Our highly experienced tutors tailor lesson plans to each student’s needs and goals aiming to foster a safe environment to explore their creativity and develop life long skills.

What are the benefits of music tuition?

Is there a Trial Lesson?

Yes, we provide a 30 minute trial lesson which allows prospective students to meet the tutor in the classroom, share their goals, and see if the instrument suits them. After the trial lesson, students can decide whether they would like ongoing lessons and we will then work out a lesson schedule together. 

Is the typical lesson one-on-one or a group lesson?

All of our lessons are one-on-one lessons that follow the school term

What kind of practice instrument should I get for my child starting lessons?

We are happy to recommend practice instruments that suit you best so please ask our staff about instruments for hire or purchase.

Are music examinations compulsory?

While music exams are offered, and sometimes recommended, they are not compulsory.

What examination boards do you follow?

The main examination board we follow is Trinity College London but we also offer Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams.

What equipment do our practice rooms have?

Descriptions of the band rooms can be found on our website at www.debasestudio.co.nz/rehearsal-rooms. Cymbals and Keyboards can be hired for $10. Extra leads and parts are supplied for free.

Do you offer afternoon practice room hire on weekdays?

Due to afternoon music lessons from 3pm-7pm, we do not offer afternoon practice room hire. Practice room hires for weekdays are between 7pm-10pm, Saturday between 10am to 6pm, and Sunday between 2pm to 7pm.
